Cactus part-time language courses are typically offered at seven levels, from Cactus Level 1 to Cactus Level 7, suitable for students with and without prior knowledge of the language. Studied in sequence, the seven levels are designed to progress students from beginner level through to advanced. The programme can be picked up at any level, according to existing language skills. Each level can also be studied as a one-off course in its own right to build or refresh language skills at the chosen level.
Courses run consecutively throughout the year with breaks for the Easter and Christmas periods. This provides the opportunity for continuous training, allowing students to progress and move up to higher levels as their skills develop.
To help you decide which level is right for you, please look at the course level descriptions and take our online language level test.

(Leah, Apr 2010 )
Classes are relaxed and the people are really friendly.
Sandrine is a very warm and informative teacher.
(Amanda, Apr 2007 )All went OK – was extremely enjoyable – a lot to take in – however that was obviously going to be the case as I am a complete beginner.
(Rachel, Apr 2006 )The teacher and the class size were great. I will definitely continue with the Elementary course.
(Jessica, Sep 2005 )Hello Veronica, I really enjoyed my course and the teacher, Maria was very good. I may come back in the future. Thanks.
(Jimmy, Jan 2005 )The teacher was excellent and the location of the school was very convenient for me. I really liked having a native French speaker as a teacher.
(Alison, Jan 2005 )I thought the classes were well structured & informative. I learnt a considerable amount & the teacher explained things very well. It was a friendly & a nice atmosphere to learn in. Very much enjoyed my 8 weeks! Thank you!
(Samantha, Jan 2005 )The school was very good and the classes were small which is a plus - friendly atmosphere! Good time as not too early! Also the location is very good.
(Michael, Jan 2005 )Hi Veronica, the course was really good - I didn't speak a word before (apart from pasta, pizza etc!) but now feel quite confident with it. Vera's a very good teacher and the size of the groups made us feel like we were getting 1:1 tuition. It was also a good fun atmosphere so I'll miss it! I wouldn't hesitate on booking another one but have just started a new job which is shift work (hence I'm writing this at 12:45 on a Saturday morning!!) so unfortunately I can't. We do however want to book a weeks intensive course in Bologna from April 17th - 22nd. Could you please let me know how much this will cost (for two, no accommodation)? Laura in your office was going to give us a discount so could you please give us a total price and book it up for us? Thanks, Jamie.
(Jamie, Jan 2005 )Hi, we both thought that the course was good. The teacher was fantastic, so nice and easy going. We definitely felt that our Spanish was improved and would have loved to have carried on with the plus course. The class size was good, location was ideal for us and the time and day of the week too.
(Adam, Jan 2005 )I enjoyed the course. The mix of 2 teachers turned out to be a good balance between fun and grammar. Thanks!
(Kishore, Sep 2004 )The school was conveniently situated and easy to get to. We had a small class, a friendly and semi-formal approach - all suited me very well!
