How long have you been living in the UK?

I have been living in the UK for over 15 years.

Have you lived in any countries outside Europe?

I have been lived in China and in Japan for a longer time, so I also have a little insight into Japanese language and culture.

What is your degree and teaching experience?

I have an M.A. (Magistra Artium) from the Free University in Berlin in Sinology (Chinese studies), cultural anthropology and sociology. I later obtained a certificate as a teacher for German as a Foreign language from the Goethe Institute in combination with the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). I also worked as a Foreign Languages Assistant in a variety of schools, preparing students for their GCSE and A-levels. Back in Germany I worked in academia as well as in a media company dealing with multilingual project management.

How many languages do you speak?

Besides of my mother tongue I speak three languages, English, French and Mandarin.

What is your best teaching experience?

My best teaching experience is when I feel that it clicks and when I see that students enjoy the learning process. This mostly also involves the discovery of how much culture there is in language learning.

Looking forward to seeing you in one of my classes. Auf Wiedersehen! Tschüs!
