Virtual Classrooms

Virtual classrooms offer a unique online learning experience. Our expert language tutors engage in live interactions with students. Teachers will deliver activities that practise the four key skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking. Teachers will also focus on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Our online tutors are the same qualified tutors that teach our face-to-face courses. Teachers will always use the proven learning method.

What Happens in a Virtual Classroom

The online courses are available at all levels from beginners to advanced. This way, you will be able to achieve the desired learning progress for the language of your choice.

Tutors will regularly provide feedback and individual learning tips. Our teachers are qualified, with many years of experience and you can reach them via MyCactus if you have any questions.

Learning Programme

You will follow a course book as in a face-to-face class. You will practice reading, writing, speaking and listening the language using professional study materials and our proven method. As in a face-to-face class, you will work with the other course participants on various group exercises.

Up to ten students will be joining the online classes, the average number of students in a group is 6. It will provide the opportunity to interact with your tutor, with the other students and to practise your speaking skills. The international mixture of the classes allows an intercultural exchange and diversifies the learning experience.

What if I Can’t Attend One of My Lessons?

If on occasion you are unable to join your virtual classroom, the teacher will provide a detailed outline of the lesson content. You can access it on your MyCactus account.

MyCactus is our online platform for language students. MyCactus is where you can access information about your course, schedule, lesson content and homework. You can also message your teacher or the Cactus Team through the personalised message centre and message inbox.

Frequently asked questions

What will I learn?

Our Course Outlines give an overview of the content and learning framework of Cactus courses. Includes themes, grammar and vocabulary you can typically expect to cover. These are intended as a guide only. Language teachers may at times adapt the course content to suit the specific level, aims and interests of the class.

How do I know what level I am?

Are you unsure where to start or progress to? Then take our level test and read our level descriptions for guidance.

Do I receive a qualification or certificate?

At the end of your course you receive a certificate of participation. You will be able to be download it from your MyCactus account. This confirms the language and level of course you have taken. Our course levels are based on two internationally recognised systems. You will have a universally accepted reference for your studies. (Important: Please note that you must complete the end of course questionnaire sent to you to be able to get your certificate! You will receive the course questionnaire by e-mail at the end of your course.)

Do I need a course book?

You will need a course book to attend your course. Course books are not included in the course fees. We recommend that you buy your own course book separately before your course starts. We will let you know which course book you will require and advise where you can purchase this. Please note that a course book often covers more than one level. So if you progress to the next course, you may not necessarily need to buy a new book. Again, we will advise you of this at the time. The course book is chosen by our teachers and academic team. This is based on which book is most suitable for the level of the class whilst offering the most communicative approach.
